Six years ago, NASA’s Mars rovers Spirit and Opportunity touched down on Mars on a three month mission.

Hayabusa, Japan’s asteroid exploring spacecraft snapped this photo. It was supposed to land and collect a sample, unfortunately it never succeeded in landing. It is returning to earth with a great story to tell.
